Phill Davis is the best friend anyone could ask for.  He has been there at every turn for me.  Phill and I first started biking in High School.  He rode up to a place we call the playground on Squaw.  After a few minutes of playing around Phill followed me down a ridgeline with three large launchers across it.  Phill cartwheeled on the second big launcher.  Rob and I made him kind of sit down and take it easy as he had a gash in his helmetless scalp (hey, it was 1990 and helmets were dorky to him).  He ended up riding down the hill with us and we went to see my ever healing pop.  He assured us Phill would need stitches.  Phill's mom freaked and took him to the emergency room.  It has only gotten crazier since!

Phill bought his SVA2000 from a bike shop I worked at in 1996.  He got it just a hair over cost, enough to not get me fired.  I ended up getting fired anyway and we started the modifications on Phill's bike.  His began with a Cane Creek AD-10 and about 6.25" of travel.  Phill's bike has been on the BLEEDING edge of technology ever since.  It is currently running 12" on both ends and a full XTR drivetrain including front derailleur.

Phill is always the first one there to help and the last one to leave.  He is the Kruw's connoiseur.  He knows the best of everything or is determined to find such.  We often joke they should have a Phill's Report that would be oh so much better than the Robb Report.  It would be about adventure gear and destinations.  Phill is an incredible climber and has travelled the world doing such.  Someday, I want to grow up like Phill.  Just not yet ...
